About the Role:

The Product Quality & Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing product quality, product safety, regulatory compliance, supplier quality, and manufacturing quality across current and new product categories.

This role partners closely with Product Development, Operations, suppliers, and other cross-functional teams to ensure products meet applicable regulatory requirements, company standards, retailer requirements, and quality expectations. The Manager also leads quality investigations, corrective actions, product traceability, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and maintain product quality, safety, and compliance standards for applicable products and markets.
  • Identify and monitor regulatory, certification, labeling, testing, and documentation requirements.
  • Partner with Product Development on product testing and certification activities and review supporting documentation for completeness.
  • Establish quality and inspection standards for new and existing products.
  • Review production and inspection results and recommend corrective actions, increased controls, or escalation when necessary.
  • Evaluate product, material, supplier, or manufacturing changes for potential quality and compliance impact.
  • Maintain supplier quality requirements and conduct or coordinate supplier reviews and audits.
  • Monitor supplier performance and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
  • Lead investigations related to product complaints, failures, manufacturing defects, warranty trends, retailer concerns, and product safety incidents.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities and verify effectiveness.
  • Maintain product traceability requirements and support product holds, field actions, mock recalls, and recall readiness.
  • Monitor complaint, return, warranty, and claims data to identify recurring quality or safety concerns.
  • Provide technical support for product-related claims, insurance matters, regulatory inquiries, and other risk-related matters as needed.
  • Manage, coach, and develop the Quality & Compliance Specialist.
  • Develop quality procedures, documentation, reporting, and performance metrics.
  • Provide management with timely reporting and escalate significant product safety, quality, or compliance risks.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Product Safety, Regulatory Compliance, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in consumer product quality, product safety, regulatory compliance, supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or related engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience leading employees, programs, projects, suppliers, or cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working with global manufacturing partners and suppliers.
  • Experience with root-cause analysis, CAPA, supplier quality, production controls, product traceability, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to interpret technical standards, test reports, drawings, specifications, certifications, and manufacturing records.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
  • xperience with grills, outdoor living products, gas appliances, electrical products, durable consumer goods, or other regulated consumer products.
  • Experience with product recalls, product holds, retailer safety matters, product liability claims, or regulatory inquiries.
  • ASQ, Six Sigma, Quality Auditor, Product Safety, Regulatory Compliance, or similar certification preferred.
  • Experience working with overseas factories and international manufacturing partners.
  • Mandarin language skills are a plus.

Salary Starting at $100,000+
