Overview:
Product Development Engineer supports product development, production quality, and engineering alignment by inspecting samples at factory sites, approving readiness for shipment, and assisting with mass production inspections. Monitors product consistency, identifies quality issues, and conducts competitive benchmarking to support product requirements. Reviews Product Specification Sheets (PSS) for alignment with engineering drawings, identifies risks or gaps, and assists with testing, validation, and performance verification.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect new product development samples at factory sites to ensure alignment with design intent, CMF, and overall quality
  • Approve sample readiness prior to shipment to the U.S. for presentations
  • Support production quality assurance by assisting with mass production inspections and monitoring product consistency
  • Identify and report quality issues during production runs
  • Conduct product research and competitive benchmarking to support product development decisions
  • Define key product features and requirements to maintain competitiveness
  • Review Product Specification Sheets (PSS) to ensure alignment with engineering drawings
  • Identify risks, inconsistencies, and gaps in specifications
  • Assist in developing product testing protocols and validation methods
  • Support verification of product performance against defined requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related field)
  • Experience working with factories and manufacturing partners
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and across regions
  • Ability to travel internationally to factory sites as needed, including China, Indonesia, Malaysia, and around Hong Kong
  • Experience interpreting and reading engineering drawings
  • Experience with outdoor heating products or similar categories
  • Experience in consumer product development and manufacturing
